BACKGROUND

What is
ADHD?

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that mainly affects attention, impulse control and activity level. It shows itself differently from person to person and can change over the course of life.

Many adults live with undiagnosed ADHD, which can lead to chronic stress, low self-esteem and burnout. A psychiatric assessment can provide insight and understanding – and be the first step towards the right ADHD treatment and a better-functioning everyday life. • Mental fatigue or feeling easily exhausted
  • Forgetfulness and difficulty with planning
  • Challenges initiating or completing tasks

ADHD can co-occur with other psychiatric conditions, and ADHD and autism in particular are frequently seen together. Symptoms can overlap and influence each other, which is why taking a holistic view is essential. At Nordisk Psykiatri, we also offer assessments for autism, anxiety, and OCD.
